The award-winning Oregon Sinfonietta, conducted by Dr. Donald L. Appert, is a full symphony orchestra of about sixty musicians that draws together community musicians from the greater Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington area. The orchestra performs four free concerts per season at the Sunnyside Seventh-day Adventist Church in SE Portland. The repertoire for our 50th Anniversary Season includes the wonderful symphonies of Beach ("Gaelic"), Schumann, Dvořαk, and Magnard, and the timeless music of Tchaikovsky, Mozart, and other fine composers. Dr. Appert's Cello Concerto features world-class cellist Diane Chaplin as soloist, and the CMSO Concerto Competition's outstanding young artist winners join the orchestra in performing full concertos.
